The department of History Centre was established in the early year of 1982 with the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam to do research, to collect, study, publish and exhibit the History of Negara Brunei Darussalam, for the information's obtained would benefit the people of this country.
MESSAGE FROM DIRECTOR OF BRUNEI HISTORY CENTRE
In order to achieve the policy and objectives of establishing the History Centre, the centre has stated her vision to make this department as a Resource Institution and a Centre for research, documentation, study, publication and exhibition on the History of Brunei Darussalam.
As one of the oldest nation in this region, all citizens of Brunei should be well informed of the history of their country as their guides, examples and comparisons in facing problems for the nation. It is also a positive incentive to set good plannings with the capability to implement by the nation.
In this regard, with the progress of information technology, which becomes more sophisticated, facilitates all efforts of research discoveries to be made known to the public. The rapid technological development throughout the world at present facilitates the process of findings and acquiring immediately the informations required.
